Raised in the suburbs of Los Angeles in the 1980s, Alysha Foliart has always been a highly creative individual. However, the circumstances of her life caused her to put her dreams on hold for many years, and she didn't begin writing for publication until long after her studies at the University of New Mexico. Yet, after overcoming many obstacles, she finally began submitting novellas, poetry, and short stories to publishers, eventually seeing her work published twice by the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival and her screenplay for The Revenge of the Bride of Frankenstein receive multiple awards. Alysha uses the nom de plume, Jillian Rae Young, to separate her unrestrained creative self from her administrative side as the CPO of StormGrrl Studios as well to separate any personal viewpoints she may have from any external corporations with which she may be associated.
In addition to possessing the creative skills needed to bring characters to life, build realistic worlds, and to craft compelling musical scores, Alysha also has over 8 years of experience in the banking industry as well as over 20 years of experience utilizing technology to improve the daily interface between humans and computers. She has determined that the use of computers and programs containing AI components at StormGrrl Studios will always be tempered so that we never become entirely reliant on technology, as the essence of filmmaking remains the process of telling human stories, not tales told by machines pretending to be us.
Alysha relocated to the Northwestern U.S. at the turn of the 21st century, where she enjoys the enormous trees, frequent freight trains, historic neighborhoods, and bustling downtown sector of Spokane, WA.
